Located between the iconic Astrup Fearnley Museum, the canals on Tjuvholmen and the Oslofjord, most of our 119 rooms have brilliant views. Timeless elegance with clear references to contemporary art and design is the common denominator for THIEF FURNISHING. International and Norwegian designers such as Antonio Citterio, Bruno Rainaldi, Tom Dixon, Anne Haavind and StokkeAustad are behind the furniture and decor. The hotel’s own art curator has hand-picked art for every single room and suite from the THIEF ART collection. We have five room categories at THE THIEF. Whether you choose THE OSLO SUITE – the top suite with a 360-degree view from a private terrace – or one of Oslo´s most spacious standard rooms, comfort takes pride of place. All rooms have tailored solutions and original details, which create an intimate and personal atmosphere.

THE THIEF - YOUR NEAREST HIDEAWAY Tjuvholmen (Thief Islet) used to be a haven for smugglers, thieves and scoundrels. Today it is home to THE THIEF, a modern hideaway – right in the middle of downtown Oslo. If anything gets stolen there nowadays, it’s usually us stealing our guests away from their everyday lives. THE THIEF has filled this retreat with top international art pieces, carefully selected designer furniture, global Nordic cuisine, top quality spa and cosmopolitan bars. ‘Escapees’ are able to enjoy refreshing dips in the sea at the Tjuvholmen beach or stroll off the islet across the footbridge to the bustling Aker Brygge restaurant and business area. Most of our guests come here to get away from it all, and for the relaxing atmosphere of THE THIEF. A sanctuary has never felt so comfortable and secluded yet connected.

The Airport Express Train The Airport Express Train runs six times an hour and brings you to Oslo Central Station in 19 minutes Three out of six departures continue to Nationaltheatret Station (28 min.) From here it is about a 15-minute walk to the hotel For more information about the Airport Express Train, departure times and prices see Airport Express Train Taxi Airport taxi has an information desk in the arrivals hall at Oslo Airport Gardermoen The taxi journey takes approx. 50 minutes. Arriving by car From the E6/ Gardermoen or E 18/ Gothenburg: Take the Festningstunnel and exit at Sentrum Vest Turn left at the first traffic lights Then follow the road left and cross the tram tracks Turn right into Munkedamsveien at the next traffic lights At the first roundabout, after about 150 metres, turn left towards Tjuvholmen Drive into the multi-storey car park and drive straight on past the large sculpture and up onto the bridge The hotel is on the right after the bridge Parking in the garage under the hotel. Contact reception on arrival for more information Arriving by boat In summer we offer a pick-up service by boat If you arrive by sea in a private boat THE THIEF has moorings for the hotel’s guests in the marina on Tjuvholmen .

“My time in Oslo felt very much like this. A technicolor world I was free floating in, if only for moments. I came to the city thinking I was going to like it. I did not realize I would leave it having fallen in love. I traversed as much of Oslo as I could. Mostly on foot. I missed sleep because I wanted to see the people and life over the inside of my eyelids. And the cherry on top of the gorgeous architecture and local culture and nautical dreamscapes was my day/night with @thethiefoslo . ‘The Thieves’ is a song written and performed by the Norwegian artist, Ingunn Tennøe. THE THIEF encouraged Ingunn to step outside her comfort zone and for the first time perform her own songs to an audience, at THIEF MUSIC Unplugged. Ingunn wrote this song as a gratitude to THE THIEVES.
